Blake the blue bird loved to fly. But today, he planned to float in a blimp across the clear sky.
"Blake!" called Clay the clumsy clam. "Can I climb up too?"
Blake flapped his wings. "Of course! Bring Floyd the flea too!"
So Clay clapped his shells and called for Floyd. The three friends planned their flight with glee.
Blake brought a blank map. Clay packed a plate of plums. Floyd just brought his tiny flea flag.
"Let's blast off!" Blake smiled as he pulled the black lever.
The blimp slowly floated up. Blake played a flute as they drifted into the clouds.
"Look down!" Clay cried. "The plants look like little green dots!"
Just then, a flash of light made them blink. A glowing blob flew past the blimp!
"What was that?" gasped Floyd.
"I think it was a flying slice of pizza!" Blake said.
They all looked at each other and started to giggle.
Suddenly, the blimp turned and flipped! They slid to one side.
"We're going to crash!" yelled Clay.
Blake stayed calm. "No, we'll glide down slowly."
The blimp floated down and landed with a plop in a field of clovers.
"That was close!" said Floyd.
As they stepped out, they saw what made the flash. It was Glen the glowing slug on a flat leaf sled!
"Sorry about that!" Glen called. "I was sledding on clouds!"
Blake, Clay, and Floyd looked at Glen, then looked at the sky. Cloud sledding?
"Can we try?" they all asked at once.
And that's how they spent the rest of the day—cloud sledding with a glowing slug!
